Been to Bobo’s before and loved it so when out last night looking for a quick bite, we ended up at Bobo’s Burger Bar.
What a gem. Friendly staff and awesome juicy burgers!Ken W.

Who doesn’t love a good burger? Bobo’s delivers on that in their uniquely styled Burger Bar. The menu is a bit more extensive than I thought but our dinner club stuck to the tried and true burgers. My wife and I split the ham burger and the steak burger. Both were really good but the steak burger had more flavour. I’d get that one again for sure. We all also got salads which were good and a large portion. To share we got a bunch of fries and they were nice.

Good service and good burgers. I’d recommend Bobo’s!

My husband and I needed some food around 8:30 pm after arriving at our hotel. We checked out menus for a couple of restaurants on Lombard and settled on Bobo’s Burger Bar. I had the Philly Cheese burger in a lettuce bun and loved it. The Maui onion rings were delicious and crispy, good dipping sauce too. Hubs had the Angel Hair lasagna and cheesy garlic bread and really liked it as well. Thomas provided excellent service and conversation. The decor was fun, a harlequin mirror reflecting a clown mural was a nice touch. We will return!Charlene K.

My girl and I had a fantastic time at Bobo’s Burger Bar. We entered the restaurant and decided to eat at the bar. We were quickly greeted by the bartender Thomas. He seriously made our night. His service level was very above average. He was 100% present and mentally checked-in to our dining experience our entire meal. This is very rare in today’s world so we appreciated it.Thomas told us stories of Don Johnson’s ego, his 25 years of living in San Francisco, asked us questions about our lives like where we lived, what we did for work, and so on. It was nice to have some back and forth interaction with someone who clearly cared. He even hooked me up with the bottle of whiskey that I polished off. That was above and beyond because I really wanted the bottle 🙂

Regarding the food, wow…. we had the bbque burger and the philly burger. Let me tell ya, it blew away the competition. I love burgers, and I know burgers….and these were BOMB!

So thank you and we’ll be back!

I’ve had a lot of burgers in my day and this was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. They get their beef from the high end steakhouse down the street. Thomas served us and I think he’s there most night. Great service and cool atmosphere. Will defiantly be making this a regular dinner spot.Sean D.

I’ll make this review short in sweet as today is going to be day with a few reviews for catch up. If you’re at Bobo’s Steak and Crab house and get their a little early and want some drinks and/or apps then you must come here.Service is great, and the time will pass quickly enough for your table to be ready. It’s a nice little bar. Get your drinks while you wait! Can’t complain about that at all. As I said, this is my short and sweet review for the month of February!

It’s not every day the owner, Chef Andrea Froncillo cooks and serves you!
Things to try when you’re here:
Branzino – Fried to perfection and cut so you can easily use your fork to get out the chunks of meat. Goes perfectly with the sweet soy sauce they have on the bottom of the place. Presentation is great!Oxtail Tom Yum Soup – My favorite thing! The oxtail falls apart, but I wish they gave you more than one piece of oxtail. It’s so good! The hot and sour soup opens up your palate so you can eat more!Oysters – I’m not even a big fan of oysters, but theirs were really sweet.Their alcohol list is extensive. If you love whisky, you’re in heaven here. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the things on the menu.Heard the steakhouse next door is just as delicious…will need to try it out one day!Jenny L.

OMG! ONE bite, no TWO BITES in I could not stop raving!! This is quite literally the BEST burger I have eaten. My sister and just flew in from Vegas, for Sister weekend, we were starving…. went to yelp and Bobo’s popped up, happened to be down the street. We hiked over and took a Double Cheese and Bacon burger to split. Just a snack, BURGER WAS HUGE! Cooked Medium with a grilled onion and THE BEST spicy Aioli is pure bliss!! We are here in a hotel room as I’m reviewing enjoying EVERY BITE! Will recommend to everyone who comes to visit. Need one in Vegas.Cindy F.

Amazing! Worth every bit of money. You don’t need fries to go with burgers but if you do, they are also amazing. Atmosphere is nice, not a lot of room but the food makes up for it. BTW all male staff and that’s the first for me and they did not disappoint. Will be back.Averyl S.

Came here on a Sunday night with the boyfriend. My first time and his second time.We got the crab cakes as an appetizer (only two pieces)

Complimentary bread was different, and very hard crust!

We both ordered the crab and filet mignon as the main course and it was more than enough, ended up taking some crab home!
Also had the twice baked potato which was really plain.

I had the Mac and cheese as my side order and the top was way over cooked and very hard to chew.

The atmosphere is nice and dim. I wish we didn’t have to sit so close to other tables because it made it hard to hear our own conversations. (Seated upstairs)

The bathrooms are through these heavy curtains and if you’re waiting there is not much room to stand.

Overall it was a good experience and the food was decent.

Parking is available (valet) but we easily found parking across the street at 8pm.

This is my favorite new cheat food day destination. Thomas was one of the best servers of all time. He was super present and knew exactly what we needed and when we needed it. He never let the drinks run dry or the food run out–hence why I say it has to be a cheat food day location. The burgers were absolutely delicious-you gotta try the Modern Mac N Cheese… it looks like a crab cake but it’s actually a cheesy, crispy, Mac n cheese delight. I’d probably pass on the creamed spinach just because it was a little undercooked compared to how I like it at Mortons but the bbq burger was delicious, the espresso martini was perfection and the mini, creme-filled donuts melted in my mouth. I want to go back right now. Thomas… can you please figure out how to remove the calories before our next visit?! Oh ya, if you finish a bottle of blantons, Thomas will give you the horse topper and bottle–for the collectors out there… I almost forgot to mention the bathroom–make sure to have a look, it’s very European and fabulous! Thanks Thomas and the crew for making this our favorite new local hangout!Emyli V.

The menu is a la cart. The steaks are very tender, but Lobster soup however was just ok. One piece of lobster in my soup. Tasted like split pea soup not lobster. The server was nice. Romantic setting and cozy booths near the window offer a street view. Beautiful for a Christmas dinner in the city.

Had a great long evening taking my visiting aunt and uncle here last night. We arrived a little early so we grabbed a drink at the bar, as we sipped and caught-up I realized that we had passed out reservation time by 15 minutes or so, when I alerted the hosted she quickly told us our table was ready and waiting for us whenever we were finished at the bar, she just didn’t want to interrupt our drinks. A nice reminder that they were on our time as guests, rather than the other way around. We immediately ditched the bar and went to our table to mull over the impressive menu.

all said the three of us ordered a Cesar salad, the brussel sprouts, smoked salmon and crab crustini, the walnut and cranberry (i believe) salad, the bone in new york cut, the bone in petite filet mignon, and a half crab.

I had the bone in petite filet mignon and I can assuredly say it was one of the best steaks I’ve had in my life. absolutely delicious, and with the crab and brussel sprouts it was an amazing, and extremely filling meal. Remarks from my aunt uncle on their meals were high as well. We lingered on catching up and chatting and never felt pressure from the staff to move along, or server was friendly and attentive without being overbearing (and had a great french accent which only added to the old world charm of the dining experience). Enjoy any of the above menu items with their perfect “bofashioned” cocktail, and you’re in for a good night.

Bar tender gave us personal service. We ordered burger and onion rings and seriously it was soooo good! Not one other patron in there when we came, but after having one delicious drink and the delicious food I can’t imagine why. Juying is such a sweet lady! I will come again sometimeMairin H.

We passed by Boob’s Lounge each night on our way to our hotel on Lombard St. It looked cool, cute, we always stopped to peak in.
On our last night in the city we decided to go in, give it a shot. It’s exactly the type of bar I miss from Europe. It has atmosphere, nice, classy decor, the light is dim, they play great music in the background. It’s the type of place that you can have a conversation with your friends, with your significant other, etc. It’s not loud, this isn’t a meat market. Just a cool place to hang out for a while, enjoy a drink and the ambiance. It was pretty new when we visited, they didn’t have a drink menu, we just ordered 2 Mai-Tais at the bar and they were great! Nice and strong. I loved their tables, their intimate, cozy atmosphere and the fact they don’t have TV-s in there. If I’d live in SF, I would go often to this place. From the street, you just open the door of Bobo’s Lounge and step into another world. That’s my idea of a cool bar.Jo S.

First place we went was too packed 2 wait. People there told us about a stack house a few blocks away, saw this place and went in. very cool little place, great food and awesome service. Awesome steak. It was great to just sit at the bar and enjoy a fine ribeye with extremely well prepared mushrooms.I chose a great Bordeaux to pair with it after enjoying a finely prepared old fashioned upon arrival. It is COZY inside, but not so much that you feel crammed. It really is just close enough quarters to give the place some charm. There is a lot of history in the room with tons of vintage photos lining the wall. It is an atmosphere that just really enhances your conversation with whomever you are enjoying the place with.

The yellowtail carpaccio was our appetizer and it was very fresh. The portion was strong as well. Not a hint of parsimony, which can always be a risk at a place like this. Everything came out promptly, but not at a rushed pace. When we were ready for steaks, the steaks came. The quality of the ribeye was very strong. Hardly had to cut, hardly had to chew. The char was crisp, and the flavor was robust. Glad I went!

First time in. Very awesome service. The wait staff actually cared. Checked on us without being ooberly annoying like a car salesman. Ambiance totally chill. The food. Amazing! Potstickers were off the chain and my crab lasagna was perfect. Hit the spot. I’d definitely come back! 🙂Heidi L.
San Francisco, CA

Bone-in filet mignon is hands down the best steak I’ve had in eons. It tastes like the steak had a naughty affair with herb butter. The whole crab was fantastic (you do crack it yourself, which I enjoy). Come is a savory parm butter sauce which is delish. Also the warm towelettes at the end are a nice touch.

Twice baked potato was delicious and creamy. As was the Mac and cheese side dish.

Free garlic olive pile bread to start is amazing!

The ambiance is teetering on the brink of kitsch but I think it’s a nice departure from a stuffy steakhouse!

The 14oz steak, whole crab and two sides were more than enough for 2 people. And at under $120 for two, was a great deal for the quality and quantity;

Just up the hill from Bobo’s is Bobo’s Lounge. A newly opened bar and lounge quite different from Bobo’s in all respects. Beautifully decorated Venetian inspired interior with a deep red hue, major sex appeal, but with a very casual atmosphere. The menu is also very different as well as this isn’t another steak and crab joint. Very nice wine list too. We had a very memorable time here, enjoyed some nice glasses of wine, sampled some of the excellent branzino and shared some of the delectable desserts. Can’t wait to come back!
Don’t forget to check out the bathroom. Haha. It will very likely be one of the nicest and sexiest bathrooms at a bar/lounge that you will have ever seen.Erich D.

Well known for their bone in filet mignon and new york steak, well this place has to be one of the best kept local secrets! You walk into a 70’s san francisco art deco bar and restaurant. The food is top notch! Service excellent! I can’t remember having a better filet mignon in a long time! Give this place a try….

For my father’s birthday Bobo’s went all out. He wanted steak, and we got some of the best steak San Francisco has to offer. Served on cutting boards, the filet and bone-in New York we got were both outstanding. The drinks were top-notch as well.

Great steak. Great food in general. But Jacqueline working the bar makes the visit. She’s engaging and inclusive. If you’re hungry and feeling the blues – as matter of fact – even if you’re not feeling the blues – you’ll feel a lot better after an hour with a Bobo’s bone in filet and just a few minutes with the incomparable Jackie.Jonathan H.

This really is a fun place – great for special occasions. We came for our daughter’s graduation, a party of 8 and we had such a nice experience. The food was delicious and the steaks are amazing, cooked to perfection. There are so many options on the menu to choose from. It is not cheap, but for the excellent service, yummy food and all around fun time that we all had, it is totally worth it. Drinks are very good, too. We will be back.Carrie S.

Probably the best steakhouse in the city, in my opinion. The mussels are worth every penny and my recommendation for steak would be the Bone in Filet. The carved sourdough type bread is also dunked in butter and garlic then toasted. A+ serviceSam H.

Just a stone’s throw away from Bobo’s steakhouse, Bobo’s lounge boasts a very different menu and a more classy ambiance. The only decorative aspect that carried over from Bobo’s steakhouse are the crimson walls. Other than that, everything–from the sparkly red chandeliers to the mural that flanks one side of the lounge–screams elegance. The mister and I had a grand ol’ time here with great company. Our glasses were always full with very good wine, we sampled the yummy branzino and finished the night with some amazing desserts. I look forward to coming back.

This was a great place. We were staying in the hotel right next to Bobo’s restaurant and lounge. My mother and I went to the lounge on our first night out in San Fran (a Saturday night). The atmosphere was very chill and relaxed. It was a done-up place, with rich and vibrant decor. The drinks were AMAZING! Some of the best I’ve tasted; they had some creative cocktails. We ordered a “Firing Squad Special” and “Southern Milk Punch;” they were both astounding. I recommend both if you like either tequila or rum. The Southern Milk Punch was a creamy drink with nutmeg– definitely an interesting taste. We also ordered a couple of desserts to share, and they were also amazing. We had a gelato sundae and some type of cream puff/Italian doughnut. We were very pleased with our visit and experience. We actually wanted to return the next couple of nights following, but they close up pretty early on week nights, which is a bit of a bummer. Overall it is an excellent establishment – I will be excited to return!

Had a reservation at Bobo’s but had to wait because our reservation didn’t show up. Bobo’s was more than accommodating and called us right when a table opened (about 15 minutes). But we came over to the lounge for a drink and thought! Why not just stay here since they had steaks as well? They are related to Bobo’s, so it shouldn’t be that bad.. And it was even better than we thought! I got the fillet medium well and it just melted in my mouth! The mashed potatoes with peas were to die for as well. I got to drink the moulin rouge, and it was delightful. My girls got a ribeye steak, and we all cleaned our plates.. The music, ambiance and service was on point! Love it and will be back whenever I’m back in SF!

Why don’t more people review this place?!? We came here last weekend for a friends bday and while we were waiting for our reservations at Boboquivaris, the hostess recommended us to have some drinks at Bobo’s lounge. Why didn’t we just stay here and eat instead? First off, you get valet parking if you eat at the restaurant or the lounge which is awesome. Secondly, the selection of drinks at the bar is amazing. They have an amazing top shelf selection. The bartenders were super attentive and knowledgeable. They made some pretty great drinks. I mean you get what you paid for. The drinks are expensive but you get pretty buzzed off on drink. They are not shy with the servings. My boyfriend ordered some shots of 1942 and the bartender actually recommend us a different type of tequila, which was a bit cheaper but way more smoother. Usually bartenders will just go straight for the expensive shots. Still wasn’t cheap for $40 a shot but would’ve been more with 1942.I can’t remember the mans name, he was an Asian man (I can say that because I’m Asian) who is awesome. He was so attentive and even though we didn’t eat there, he gave us full details of how the lounge and restaurant collaborated with each other.

The menu from the bar looked amazing. They had better selection of sides than the actual restaurant and they are cheaper. At the restaurant, you have to pay for sides separately like many high end steakhouses, but at the lounge you get a side with the main course. The couple next to our group ordered an 8 oz filet and it was huge! Way bigger than what I had at the restaurant. We had a party of 6 and the waiter at the restaurant seemed annoyed with us. I think we were better off at the lounge where they treated us like royalty. They even gave us steamed towels to clean our hands after we ate $1 oysters (which they didn’t have at the restaurant). They sure didn’t give us that next door even after we had mussels and crab. The only reason why we went to the restaurant instead was because they didn’t have crab or mussels at the lounge. Otherwise, we would have stayed. That’s not stopping us from going back. Even after we left, I couldn’t wait to go back. My boyfriend even made reservations on Valentine’s Day. Can’t wait to wine and dine this time at the lounge.

This place is pretty new but when I went, they did an excellent job with service. The food was amazing! Don’t miss the lamb pops and the apple crisp pastry. This is a great hidden gem. Their wine list is legit and cocktails are also very extensive.

Lobster crostini were the highlight appetizer with burrata! Nice wine list and port. Shared the crab crostini also with burrata – nice but lobster blew it away. The filet with the bone was heavenly! Cooked to perfection and melt in your mouth fantastic. Pricey but perfection. Had Brussel sprouts – meh. Ended with chocolate bomb – yum! The server was super nice and accommodating – cold AC was blowing on my back. Was with a friend of 35years and we had lots to talk about so we sat for hours – closing down the place and no one rushed us.Moab E.

Recommended by a bar tender at Fisherman’s Wharf. Upscale lounge decor with a harlequin theme. Specialty cocktails are unique and delicious. Ordered the Sellback and The Southern Milk Punch. I spend a lot of time on the road, so it’s always a treat to find an oasis like Bobo’s Lounge. The decor is so warm and classy that I could hang out there for hours. Most importantly, Bartender Maria knows her way around some pretty fancy drinks, while being very attentive and friendly. Completely disagree with reviewer Jim P, and kudos to Maria for understanding the open container law so no one gets in trouble. Will be visiting again real soon.Phil B.

Their burgers are to die for! I also really enjoyed the macaroni and cheese. Really nice people there. Nice surroundings. One thing I’d like to say I like to see a little bit more side dishes. The french fries were fine but average. I highly recommend Bobo’s burgersBrian Wishnefsky

Headed here for dinner while vacationing looking for a burger… And got the tastiest burger I have had in SF. Small, intimate little place, funky decor, great sound track and ambiance. Kind of expensive, but you won’t leave hungry. Wife had the chili and loved it. If you have a hankerin’ for a great burger, you won’t go wrong at this place.

I wish I could give it 6 stars. We took a road trip up the PCH last summer and ended up a hotel nearby. The staff were amazing, we sat at the bar, ate phenomenal oysters and chatted all night.
